Consistory
“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be.” | 1 Peter 5:2
Otley Church is led by a board consisting of Elders, Deacons and the Pastor. Members are selected from the congregation to fill three year terms. Elders are tasked with the spiritual health of the church: encouraging spiritual growth, conformity with God’s word and celebration of the sacraments (Lord’s Supper and Baptism). Deacons are tasked with ministries of mercy. They receive the contributions of the congregation and distribute them giving particular attention to missions and benevolence. The following individuals serve on our consistory board:
Elders
Wayne Foster | Gene Poortinga | Kit Vander Ploeg | Tim Vander Pol
Deacons
Chad Beyer | Justin Rozendaal | Tyler Theune | Conner Van Walbeek
Additionally, Otley Church has an Executive Team consisting of the Lead Pastor, VP of Consistory, Clerk and Chair of the Deacons which can advise and make decisions when the full consistory is unable to meet.
